The day
after

The Day After, is a photographic series taken in central Italy, at the sites of the October 2016 earthquake during some trips made in the months following the event. Instead of focusing on the visible destruction, I tried to portray the atmospheres: the earthquake as an invisible threat, capable of creating a constant psychological tension. I met the people portrayed in the photos while they were living in temporary accommodation or displaced in some hotel along the Adriatic coast. Only one family is portrayed in their home, which was not damaged by the earthquake.
